A hand-blown glass globe resting on a solid brass base. Dimmed low, it glows like a coal; turned up, it lights a whole corner.

Material detail of the Ember Lamp: blown glass, brass

On the material

Oak, stone and wool, left to age.

Our oak comes from two forests in the Ardennes, felled in winter and air-dried for three years before anyone is allowed to cut it. Stone comes from a quarry near Soignies. Wool is spun in Belgium and left undyed.

Every surface is finished by hand with oil and wax. It will mark, and it is meant to.
